AIRPORT/ WILPATTU Duration : 03 ½ hour drive

Welcome to Sri Lanka, as you set foot on this beautiful island, you'll be met by a chauffeur and will be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Chilaw. You will spend the rest of the day at leisure, adapting to the humid weather and the little essence of Sri Lanka.

WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK

Today, you will check-out and leave towards the Wilpattu National Park. It is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Sri Lanka. The bizarre hallmark of this park is the presence of "Willis"(natural freshwater lakes), it is here where the animals come to drink water and bathe, you'll be able to witness some picture-perfect moments at this spot. Now, if you're one of those leopard explorers, the Wilpattu National Park safari is going to fascinate you. This park is amidst the prime national parks, world-renowned for its leopard population. Traverse this pristine nature using jeeps. The national park is divided into three different types, where the density and varieties of trees diversify. Get ready to witness some amazing mammals of Sri Lanka.

WILAPATTU / HABARANA - Duration: 2 hour drive

Today, you'll be leaving on another exciting Wilpattu National Park safari in the morning. After which you will continue to Habarana. Habarana is a little city in the Anuradhapura district of Sri Lanka and is a member of Sri Lanka’s dry zone. The dry regions contain hundreds of lakes and reservoirs which are joined by an extensive network of waterways making up a great watering system. Aside from the dry zone erudition, you'll be able to witness the most astonishingly artistic landscapes and rich environments of country's unbelievable bio-diversity.

HABARANA - Day excursion to HIRIWADUNNA

Today, you will drive to a village that lies lain around a reservoir located off the main Habarana road - Hiriwadunna. This is a typical countryside experience with bullock cart rides and rural vegetable cultivation. You'll be departing early from the hotel to begin a beautiful walk over village paths, a tank (ancient man-made reservoir) bund and forest. The trek begins with a beautiful walk along to a man-made reservoir. Begin the next phase of your trek, which will lead you into a scrub forest, where you will be transported in the bullock carts! Witness the lush rural vegetable cultivations, the farmer's "wattle and daub" house, the paddy fields. Later, maybe even enjoy an authentic Sri Lankan lunch at a village house.

Take an optional afternoon safari at the Minneriya National Park or Eco National Park depending on the season. The Minneriya National Park is located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa.

HABARANA / DAMBULLA / KANDY Duration: 3 hour drive

Today, you will proceed to Kandy with an en route stop at Dambulla. After check-out, pack your bags and get ready to visit one of the UNESCO listed Heritage Sites of the world. The Dambulla cave temple holds five caves and 157 statues of the Lord Buddha, mind-blowing paintings portraying the life of the Supreme Buddha on the ceilings and walls, highlighting the exquisite talent of ancient days.

Thereafter, proceed to Kandy - Sri Lanka’s hill capital, covered by the misty mountains. In the evening, get ready to take an exhilarating tour of the city through the bustling city and market area, this is the ideal way to breathe in the essence of Kandy and to experience the blood-red sunset by the lake as the sun sinks below the circle of mountains which surround the city. Wander by the Kandy Lake and infuse up the ambience. Also, visit the much-honoured sacred place - The Temple of the Tooth Relic.

KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA Duration : 2 ½ hour drive

Get ready to traverse from the humid weather to a chilly surrounding in just a few hours. You will proceed to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya today. The "little England" of Sri Lanka, home to all the tea estates manufacturing the best-flavoured tea, an immense field of beautiful flowers and vegetables. In the evening, you'll also be stopping at a tea factory to witness and discover more about the process of transforming the fresh tea leaves into delightful sips of tea.

NUWARA ELIYA – Day excursion to HORTON PLAINS NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you'll be leaving for the Horton Plains National Park and hike to the World’s End and Bakers Falls - one of the best Nuwara Eliya waterfalls! Horton Plains National Park is capped by mountainous grassland and cloud forests on Sri Lanka’s highest elevation over 2100m above sea level. Explore the thick grasslands and marshes; experience the feeling of washing your face from the natural chilly streams, lakes and breathtaking waterfalls. Check out the most panoramic view from ‘Worlds End’ and the beautiful Bakers Falls which looks a lot like a bride's veil. There is a great chance of witnessing some mammals, including Sambhur, Bear Monkey, Barking Deer, Giant Squirrel, Fishing Cat, Wild Boar, Hare and even a few very rare sightings of Leopard are recorded. Horton Plains National Park is definitely the perfect location for hiking and cycling with wonderful trails and cold climate.

NUWARA ELLIYA / YALA NATIONAL PARK Duration: 3 ½ hour drive

Check-out early, you will proceed towards Yala. After checking into the hotel in the afternoon, you will leave on a Jeep Safari towards the Yala National Park. Yala reveals the beauty of the Sri Lankan wildlife in its unblemished and natural form. Overflowing with birdlife and wildlife, the Yala national park is unquestionably the best in Asia, the best place in the world to spot Leopards, Sloth Bears, Elephants and a huge diversity of wonderful Birds. The place itself is 1,570-square-kilometres and is essentially an open parkland, with an estimated 35 Leopards and 400 Elephants! Upon completion of the safari, return to your hotel and get ready for dinner.

YALA NATIONAL PARK / MIRISSA Duration: 3 ½ hour drive

Today, you will leave on an early morning jeep safari game drive through the Yala National Park. Grab your cameras and activate your eagle eyes to witness the Leopards, Elephants, Wild Buffaloes, Musk Deer, Mongoose, Pangolins, Macaques and Jackals and much more animals residing in this parkland.

After this, you will check-out and proceed towards Mirissa for some astonishing whale watching.

MIRISSA

Today, you will report to the harbour at 0600 am to leave on a whale watching expedition! Leaving the harbour at 0630 am, you will travel out towards the drop-off, where the whales feed. These are some of the Mirissa whales - Blue Whales, Orcas, Sperm Whales, Byrd’s Whales and Pygmy Killer Whales. Moreover, Spinner, Bottled Nose and Riso Dolphins may also make an appearance. If you are remarkably blessed and lucky, you may spot a whale shark as well! Witness these amazing sea mammals, breathing under the blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Most times, the whales can be seen pretty close to shore. However, on some days, you may require to go out distant as they can leave for the deeper waters to feed.

You will spend the evening at leisure by the beach.

MRISSA / COLOMBO CITY TOUR Duration: 2 ½ hour drive

You will check-out and then proceed to the commercial capital - Colombo. Colombo, the city which never sleeps, a town that has lived for over 2000 years, is now a trendy megalopolis dotted with many colonial-era buildings amongst the skyscrapers and shopping malls. This city flaunts a rich colonial heritage, highlighting a softening pot of races, religions and lifestyles. Colombo is the best place to shop for all your souvenirs! Visit the bustling street markets filled with aromatic spices, multicoloured silks, kinds of cotton and fresh fruit and greens. Delve into some of the most iconic sites sightseeing such as the Colombo National and Dutch period museums, old and new parliament houses, Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, Town Hall, and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, also, don't forget to visit the Pettah market.

COLOMBO / AIRPORT

You have spent the past 11 days on this beautiful island, exploring and travelling, seeking for the marvels of a wonderful island. Today, is your last day, after breakfast, you will leave for the airport for your departure back to your country of origin. We wish you have a safe flight home, carrying all the memories collected from Sri Lanka.
