SUNDARBAN
The Sundarbans, a UNESCO World Heritage Site spanning Bangladesh and India, is the world's largest mangrove forest. Covering about 10,000 square kilometers, this unique delta ecosystem is a mosaic of tidal waterways, mudflats, and islands. Home to the endangered Bengal tiger, diverse wildlife, and an array of plant species adapted to saline conditions, the Sundarbans is a critical buffer against coastal erosion and storm surges. Boat safaris offer a glimpse into its rich biodiversity, including crocodiles, deer, and a variety of birds. The delicate balance of this mangrove haven emphasizes the importance of conservation and sustainable practices.

Upon your flight's arrival, our team will warmly welcome you and assist in transferring to the hotel. After a quick refresh, delve into a city tour encompassing key landmarks like Dalhousie Square with its colonial structures, Howrah Bridge, and the revered Kalighat Temple.

KOLKATA CITY EXPLORATION
Start your day with a fulfilling breakfast, paving the way for a comprehensive city tour. Explore iconic sites such as Victoria Memorial (closed on Mondays & National holidays), Indian Museum (closed on Monday & other National Holidays), Mother House, Jain Temple, Indian Coffee House, and Kumartuli. Retire for the night at your Kolkata hotel, having absorbed the rich cultural essence of the City of Joy.

KOLKATA - GOTHKHALI – SUNDERBAN TIGER CAMP
Drive from Kolkata hotel to Gothkhali Jetty (approx. 115 kms/03 hrs.). Your surface journey ends here and you board your exclusive boat for to cruise through rivers Gomor, Durgadhwani to enter river Pitchkhali on banks of where lies the Sundarbans Tiger Camp. On your arrival you will be greeted by the Tiger Camp team and checked into your cottage followed by a hot lunch.
In the afternoon you will experience the true Sundarbans, as you walk through the native village of Dayapur. You will encounter many wonderful sights as you learn about the lifestyle, local crafts, cuisines, and way of life of the local villagers. Observe their indigenous farming methods and how their houses are completely mud made with small entrances. Your tour will pass through the village market and eventually end at the resort for refreshments followed by a dinner to end another day in the reserve forest.
One can also go to the watchtower at the resort after their return from the village to observe the birdlife within the resort (Sundarbans Tiger Camp houses 64 species of birds to date).
Evening watch Movie show on the Tigers. A warm dinner cooked with farm fresh vegetables and is served at the Fisherman’s Wharf dining hall which displays different tools used by the locals to catch fish.

KOLKATA CITY EXPLORATION
Post breakfast proceed for a thrilling cruise towards Dobanke Watch Tower as we move into the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve Forest through creeks and dense forest and numerous rivers (breakfast onboard). The canopy walk at Dobanke Watch Tower inside the forest sends chills down your spine. Also visit the spotted deer rehabilitation centre after which you cruise back through Matla – Sea Face (the point from where Bay of Bengal can be seen) to Sundarbans Tiger Camp for lunch. Post lunch visit Pakhiralay Island which is about half an hour away from your resort by boat.
Evening cultural show – Bonbibi Yatra, performed by local villagers. “Bonbibi Yatra” is the local rural theatre performed by the local villagers. ‘Bonbibi’ means forest goddess; ‘Yatra’ means an open theatre. The theatre tells the interesting story about the tiger lord, forest god & goddess, fisher man, honey collectors, with lots of songs & dances which has been created by the local villagers. (Supplement charges will be additional)

On your departure day, complete the check-out process from your hotel in the Sundarbans. Subsequently, our team will facilitate your transfer to Kolkata Airport for your onward journey.
