Macau name is derived from A-Ma-Gau or Place of A-Ma and this temple dedicated to the seafarers goddess dates from the early 16th century.Uncover the mysterious colonial culture of former Portuguese city. The most treasured icon in Macau, the St Paul church is a towering facade and stairway are all that remain of this early-17th-century Jesuit church. The Senado Square, or Senate Square is a paved town square in Sé, Macau, China and part of the UNESCO Historic Centre of Macau World Heritage Site. It is an elongated triangular shaped square and connects Largo do São Domingos at one end and Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro on the other.
The beautiful gold Kun Iam statue stands on a small island jutting into the Outer Harbour between Macau and Taipa, along Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. It's a lovely spot to stop off, take some photos and admire the view across the bay to Taipa.
