Cape Town

Upon arrival at Cape Town, you will be met by our representative; who will transfer you to your hotel. Check in and freshen up. Rest of day is at leisure. It is suggested to reach the Water Front, to soak in the atmosphere here.

Situated at the foot of Table Mountain and in the heart of Cape Town's working harbour, the V&A Waterfront offers the visitor an abundance of unforgettable experiences. Indoor shopping and entertainment venues seamlessly merge with ocean vistas and mountain views and is almost as synonymous with a visit to Cape Town, as the Table Mountain. Open from 9 am to 9 pm with free WIFI. Overnight at hotel.

City Tour and Optional Robben Island visit

After breakfast, commence on a tour of the city. Take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for a panoramic view of the city and coastline. Visit the historic Malay Quarter as we go past the South African Museum, with its famed Bushmen exhibits, the Cape Castle and other interesting sights. Later you will be dropped at V&A Waterfront. Here, you may wish to visit Robben Island (Optional).

Declared as a World Heritage Site; the tour of Robben Island takes around 4 hrs but lasts a lifetime in your mind. The ferry ride en-route to Robben Island gives you an opportunity to have a spectacular view of Table Mountain and its coastline, once again. The island environment is a natural haven to a wide variety of wildlife and a manmade reminder of South Africa's history. Some tour guides are ex-political prisoners whose firsthand accounts will serve as commentary on the 45 minute bus ride tour of the island and the tour of the prison museum including the former prison cell of Nelson Mandela. The island gives testimony to Nelson Mandela's great legacy and serves simultaneously as a reminder of South Africa's shaded past and bright future.

Cape Peninsula Tour

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a Cape Peninsula Tour. As you commence on tour, you flank the cold Atlantic Ocean en route to Hout Bay. Once a fishing community, now is one of the most popular residential areas, the harbour still has a charm of days gone by. Enjoy a half-hour cruise to "Seal Island". You then continue alongside the Indian Ocean, and stop to see the Jackass penguin colony, which has become well established, at Boulders Beach near Simon’s Town. Then reach Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. It is said to be the romantic meeting place of the two mighty oceans, the Atlantic and the Indian. Your last stop of the day is at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, home of some 3 500 species of Southern African fauna and flora.

Cape Town - Mossel Bay - Oudtshoorn

After breakfast, depart on the “The Garden Route Tour”. Travelling eastwards via Sir Lowry's Pass and the famous apple country of Grabouw to Swellendam you reach Mossel Bay. Here you visit; arguably the oldest post office in Africa, the Post Office Tree and the site of the first landfall, made by the Portuguese explorer Bartholomeu Dias in 1488. Then you travel further over the Outeniqua Mountains to the Little Karoo to visit an ostrich show farm for some unique experiences, including possible ostrich racing. Overnight in Oudtshoorn, also called the "Feather Capital" of the world, as over ninety percent of the world's ostrich farms are found in the Garden Route area.

Oudtshoorn - Cango Caves - George - Wilderness - Knysna

Today, during this exciting Garden Route Tour, you visit the Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa's foremost natural wonders. The fascinating calcite caves comprise an underground wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites. You travel past Oudtshoorn and over the Outeniqua Mountains again to George and Wilderness for a visit to the Wilderness National Park lakes area. You skirt around the lakes to Knysna on the edge of the Knysna Lagoon with its entrance to the sea guarded by two promontories known as the "Heads". The area also falls within a National Park proclaimed to conserve the extraordinary natural beauty of the Lakelands and adjacent indigenous forests. Knysna also offers shopping opportunities of locally made art and crafts.

Knysna - Tsitsikamma National Park - Port Elizabeth

Today, explore Knysna and travel further via Plettenberg Bay for a short visit. Then you traverse through magnificent scenic river valley passes. Visit the Tsitsikamma National Park stretching over 100 km of wild and rocky coastline, characterised by massive cliffs, narrow isolated beaches and shady indigenous forests along the river valleys. The final part of your journey takes you past a few coastal holiday villages to Port Elizabeth, also called the 'Friendly City' for a short city tour before checking in at your hotel for overnight stay.

Port Elizabeth – Johannesburg – Sun City

After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Sun City. Check in and freshen up. Rest of day is at leisure. Tempt lady luck at the Casino or explore the explore the resort and The Valley of Waves.

Suncity – Johannesburg

After a leisurely breakfast, checkout and keep exploring the resort till it’s time for you to travel to Johannesburg. Time permitting; you may like to take the optional “Gold Reef City tour”. Here, you travel back in time with a firsthand look at a gold mining town.

Travel down the Gold Mine shaft (under 5 years not allowed) in a large lift to level 5 for a guided tour. Walk down tunnels with a hard hat and a torch in hand and experience the conditions that the miners had to endure. When back to surface level, you experience daily demonstrations of pouring molten gold into gleaming bars of bullion and traditional miner's gumboot dances. See how coins were pressed in the past and a museum dedicated to gold mining. Here, a mining town has been reconstructed to capture the gold rush era times of Johannesburg in its heyday.

Departure

After breakfast, you are free till departure transfer to airport for your flight back home or onward journey.
